SwissmarŽ 14.5x11.5-in. Oval Nonstick Raclette with Grill
The term "Raclette" comes from the French word "racler" which means, "to scrape." The term dates back hundreds of years when Swiss shepherds, while moving their herds into the mountains, would melt large rounds of cheese on a flat rock near their campfires. Once the cheese began to bubble and melt, they would scrape it off the rock and serve it over roasted potatoes. Today, while preparing your meal is not that primitive, the method by which the shepherds cooked is still appreciated especially when you use this Swiss Raclette. With it, you can prepare melted cheese plus many healthy dishes as well. The top portion is used for grilling vegetables, seafood, mini quiches and garlic bread. The lower portion is for melting the cheese on your individual side dishes. Included with the Raclette are 8 cooking/serving dishes and wood spatulas.
